Phillip Phillips Performs At Super Bowl Pregame Show

Phillip Phillips fans got a little more than football from the Super Bowl today, they also got an awesome performance by Phillip and his band. The performance took place during the pregame show’s Tailgate Party. Phillip played a 45 minute set for a lucky crowd but only one song was shown as part of Fox’s Super Bowl pregame show. Phillip played Gone Gone Gone and besides his regular great band, he was joined by Dave Eggar on cello, a new drummer and a couple of new players on the horn section accompanying Philip Dizack on trumpet. It was a short but sweet performance; we wish they had showed more! Check it out!

Phillip Phillips Talks Super Bowl, New Album at 104.5’s The Midday 180

Today, Phillip Phillips visited 104.5’s The Midday 180 broadcast from New York in preparation for his performance at the Super Bowl pregame show this Sunday.

Phillip confirmed that he will be playing at the Tail Gate Party before the game and that his set will be about 45 minutes long. Phillip also confirmed he has been in New York for the last several weeks working on his second album.

Initially, it was announced that Phillip would debut a new song at the pregame show, but yesterday he tweeted fans to say that the song wasn’t quite ready yet to be performed. Though the prospect of hearing a new song added an extra layer of excitement to his upcoming performance, we are sure fans are just happy to see him play, especially at such a big event.

You can catch the Super Bowl pregame show live on Fox this Sunday, February 2nd, starting at 2:00 pm ET. The NFL Tail Gate Party starts at 4:00 pm ET (check your local listings).

This is sure a great way to start the year for Phillip and we can’t wait to see his performance. In the meantime, listen to Phillip’s interview with The Midday 180 below!
