Phillip Phillips Guest Stars on Pure Genius

Phillip Philips made his TV series debut last Thursday on Pure Genius, the CBS medical drama from producer Jason Katims (Parenthood, Friday Night Lights). Phillip played himself in a short but key scene of the episode’s main storyline, which involved Madeline, a bright young musician battling leukemia. The scene was moving and very effective, thanks in great part to the performance of Jade Pettyjohn, the talented actress who played Madeline. I don’t want to spoil it if you haven’t watched it, but Phillip was also great, doing what he does best, which is bringing his gift of music to those who most need it.

If you missed the episode, you can watch it in full here and here (I highly recommend it to follow the entire arc of the storyline). Or to re-watch Phillip’s scene, take a look at the video below, courtesy of mjsbigblog.

Phillip Phillips Helps Say Farewell To American Idol

Phillip Phillips came back to the American Idol stage one last time to help say farewell to the show that introduced him to America and the world.

Phillip’s appearance at the finale was confirmed only a few days before the show. To the joy of his many fans, Phillip no only came back but was part of one of the most special moments of the night, a tribute to the late David Bowie and some of his most enduring songs.

Phillip was joined by four other beloved Idol winners, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, and 2015 winner Nick Fradiani.

As for the fans, I know we will forever be grateful to American Idol for introducing us to Phillip Phillips and his beautiful story and music. The legacy of the show lives on!

Memories that will last a life time. Thank you American Idol and all of the wonderful people I got to know through it.

Phillip Phillips Rocks ‘A Capitol Fourth’

Phillip Phillips continues to make his mark on the music scene, and his way into people’s hearts, with his passionate and musically brilliant performances. Last Friday was no exception when he helped celebrate the 4th of July holiday with an incredible performance of “Raging Fire” on PBS’ “A Capitol Fourth” concert. Phillip brought his whole band with him, plus additional strings and horns and three background singers. As usual, it sounded amazing.
