Phillip Phillips Goes Back Home to “Idol,” Sets Our Souls on a “Raging Fire”

The theme was “Home” and Phillip went back home to the Idol stage tonight to debut his new single “Raging Fire.” Since it’s release on Monday, “Raging Fire” has earned rave reviews from fans and critics alike for its anthemic lyrics, beautiful strings arrangement and Phillip’s intense, heartfelt vocals. Though Philip has confessed many times that he “hates live TV,” his and the band’s performance tonight were flawless and a fantastic showcase for the song.

This performance on Idol marks the start of another busy year for Phillip, who will kick off his first Canadian Tour this Saturday, March 8,  in Halifax, Nova Scotia. So keep checking us out as we follow PP and band for the duration of the tour! And check out Phillip’s performance of “Raging Fire” on idol tonight!

Raging Fire is Here, Buy it Now!

Phillip Phillips new single Raging Fire is finally out!

The single dropped today at midnight and fans were more than ready for it.

The track was co-written by Phillip, Derek Fuhrmann, and Todd Clark, who both collaborated with Gregg Wattenberg (Phillip’s producer on The World From The Side Of The Moon) on Gone Gone Gone.

Late last week, Phillip released a 15 second teaser of the song accompanied by a video showing Phillip and some of his musicians in the studio. Although Raging Fire is not the first single to feature Phillip as a writer (that was Where We Came From), it’s the first time that he is featured as a writer on the very first single from his upcoming album.

With the release of Raging Fire, Phillip is starting a long month of touring and promotion which will most likely continue through the summer after the spring release of the album. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long to hear Raging Fire live as Phillip will return to the American Idol stage this Thursday, March 6, to perform the song.

Phillip Phillips QVC Live Performance

phillipphillips-qvc

As he gets ready to celebrate the one year anniversary of the release of The World From The Side Of The Moon, Phillip Phillips stopped by the QVC studios to chat about his platinum selling album and officially announce the release of his new Live EP. The release of the Live EP will coincide with the re-release of The World From The Side Of The Moon on November 19.
Sitting on a stool and with his trademark nervous bouncy leg, Phillips performed several songs from his album and shared stories of his early years as a young musician and his busy life after winning American Idol. The special performance took place in front a small studio audience and featured Phillips’ regular accompanying musicians Errol Cooney on guitar and Dave Eggar on cello. Together, the trio treated the audience to a beautiful and intimate acoustic set.
When asked about his touring with John Mayer, Phillips answered that it was “an honor to share the stage with him” but also confessed that he still gets nervous every time he plays, especially when performing “on live TV”.
The visit to QVC also helped Phillips promote a special QVC Exclusive edition of the upcoming Live EP, featuring 5 songs (two more than the regular edition) as well as exclusive signed copies of his album. The songs on the Live EP were recorded during Phillips’ summer tour in support of John Mayer.
The set list for the night included “Where We Came From”, Phillips’ third single from the album, and “Take Me Away”, a song he doesn’t get to perform very often.

Here is the complete set list:
“Gone, Gone, Gone”
“Where We Came From”
“Hold On”
“Tell Me A Story”
“A Fool’s Dance”
“Take Me Away”
