Phillip Phillips Talks Super Bowl, New Album at 104.5’s The Midday 180

Today, Phillip Phillips visited 104.5’s The Midday 180 broadcast from New York in preparation for his performance at the Super Bowl pregame show this Sunday.

Phillip confirmed that he will be playing at the Tail Gate Party before the game and that his set will be about 45 minutes long. Phillip also confirmed he has been in New York for the last several weeks working on his second album.

Initially, it was announced that Phillip would debut a new song at the pregame show, but yesterday he tweeted fans to say that the song wasn’t quite ready yet to be performed. Though the prospect of hearing a new song added an extra layer of excitement to his upcoming performance, we are sure fans are just happy to see him play, especially at such a big event.

You can catch the Super Bowl pregame show live on Fox this Sunday, February 2nd, starting at 2:00 pm ET. The NFL Tail Gate Party starts at 4:00 pm ET (check your local listings).

This is sure a great way to start the year for Phillip and we can’t wait to see his performance. In the meantime, listen to Phillip’s interview with The Midday 180 below!

Phillip Phillips fans celebrate TWFTSOTM Anniversary

Phillip Phillips’ debut album, The World From The Side Of The Moon is one year old today!
Interscope Records is re-releasing the album along with a three-song Live EP recorded in the summer during Phillips tour in support of John Mayer.

In honour of the 1st anniversary of the album, and its special edition re-release, we decided to make a video to celebrate all its success.

Phillips’ fans are passionate about the album, so we asked them what their favourite song on The World From The Side Of The Moon was and why. We received many beautiful answers and we wish we could have used them all. Thank you to all the fans that contributed!

You can order the special edition of the album + three-song Live EP here.

Phillip Phillips at EZ Rock lounge

Check out Phillip’s interview at the EZ Rock lounge.

“We had the pleasure of American Idol winner, Phillip Phillips, join us in the 105.7 EZ Rock lounge!

Staff gathered in the Lounge to hear Philip talk about his success, his kidneys and his new album, The World From the Side of the Moon.  Everyone found a spot and huddled in to listen to this young, Georgia native and Bulldogs fan.  He talked about what his life has been like over the past 9 months. From singing at the World Series last year to performing for the Dali Lama, his fame came fast but he seems to have it all under control.  He’s a down-home kind of kid who doesn’t think he’s famous but, is proud of his songwriting, and thrilled to be touring with Matchbox 20.

He is also seeing the ugly side to fame.  His parents filed for divorce and his Mom was charged with DUI 5 days ago.  When we were getting ready to record the interview part, I told him, “I don’t plan on talking or asking about your current family situations, its just about the music and you singing for us.”  He replied, “I appreciate that very much Lori, I mean Ma’am”…I assured him Lori was just fine.

Tune in to the Hollywood Hit List at 6:40, 7:40 and 8:40 Wednesday morning for clips from the interview.  At 8:40 we will play the acoustic version of HOME from the jam session!  Hope you catch it.  I think you’ll be wowed off your feet!” – EZ Rock lounge
