For the best part of the last six years, Phillip Phillips has been on the road. And for the best part of those years, Phillip has toured with his wife Hannah Blackwell by his side. This year, his small touring family was expanded, when Phillip and Hannah decided to bring their beautiful boxer Izzy to join them on the 43-stop Magnetic Tour.
The last time I saw Phillip Phillips in concert was a cool fall day in October 2014. At the time, I had no idea it would take almost two years until I was able to see Phillip play live again. That was in part due to Phillip taking some time off after some seriously heavy touring and some missed opportunities on my part. Thankfully, all that is in the past as Phillip is back on the road co-headlining a 40 dates tour across the U.S. with Matt Nathanson. Phillip Phillips’ summer tour made its way to Missoula, Montana last night. Phillip’ set list changes every night, so it’s always fun to try to guess what’ll be on any given night; there’s bound to be a surprise or two. Last night, it was the Missoula audience’s turn and Phillip gave them a huge surprise when he decided to debut his brand new song “Magnetic” with his full band. Just over two years after releasing Behind the Light, actual recording sessions are happening for Phillip Phillips‘ third album. Phillip has shared the news over several social media posts and has revealed that guitarist Errol Cooney is back doing some recording for the album.
