A first in Quebec for Phillip Phillips

Phillip Phillips says he is “excited” to present his “roots pop” for the first time in Quebec, Monday and Tuesday, after two busy years of touring. The young singer is also preparing a new album to be released “sometime in May,” promising to surprise us with an album that’s “completely different” from the first.

After a triumphant debut with the album The World From The Side of The Moon, certified quadruple platinum, and which includes titles Home – over 5 million copies sold – and Gone , Gone , Gone , Phillip Phillips doesn’t hide the great pressure he felt when preparing his second disc.

The first single, Raging Fire, was finalized last week in New York. The catchy, edgy love song will be included on the still unnamed second album by the winner of American Idol 2012.
The best music possible

I want the make the best music possible, so I put a lot of pressure on myself, he told the Journal during a telephone interview. We have been working on it for a month and a half.
Although he retained his musical essence, a mix of pop and folk, he promises to surprise many. “It will be completely different, and it will reveal a side of me that people don’t know. It will be a little darker… I’m very excited for people to hear it,” he said, not wanting to reveal too much.

Winner of Season 11 of American Idol, Phillip Phillips returned last Thursday to the set of the show to sing Raging Fire.

Life After American Idol

American Idol is among the most watched American talent competitions by our neighbors to the south. The show, now in its 13th season, launched the careers of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson.

What memories of the show does he have? “It was really stressful, he confesses. I have many memories attached to this experience, but I remember that it was mainly very stressful and there were a lot of emotions. But it’s hard work. There’s no doubt that American Idol has opened doors for me, but when it’s over, it’s over. And I want to keep working hard, because there are not many people who have this opportunity. ”

Adored wherever he goes, how does a young man his age manage success? “I’m very lucky. I am surrounded by good people who keep me grounded,” says the singer who hopes to have a long career.

Phillip Phillips will perform a sold out show at the Grand Théâtre de Québec on March 10. There are still some tickets left for the show on March 11 at Place des Arts in Montreal.

Raging Fire is Here, Buy it Now!

Phillip Phillips new single Raging Fire is finally out!

The single dropped today at midnight and fans were more than ready for it.

The track was co-written by Phillip, Derek Fuhrmann, and Todd Clark, who both collaborated with Gregg Wattenberg (Phillip’s producer on The World From The Side Of The Moon) on Gone Gone Gone.

Late last week, Phillip released a 15 second teaser of the song accompanied by a video showing Phillip and some of his musicians in the studio. Although Raging Fire is not the first single to feature Phillip as a writer (that was Where We Came From), it’s the first time that he is featured as a writer on the very first single from his upcoming album.

With the release of Raging Fire, Phillip is starting a long month of touring and promotion which will most likely continue through the summer after the spring release of the album. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long to hear Raging Fire live as Phillip will return to the American Idol stage this Thursday, March 6, to perform the song.

John Mayer Joins Phillip Phillips On Stage In Baltimore

It was the moment many Phillip Phillips fans had been waiting for since the tour started, and it happened a couple of nights ago in Baltimore, MD, when John Mayer joined Phillip and the band to play a beautiful cover of Eric Clapton’s “Old Love.”

Phillip has covered “Old Love” many times before, but the song had not made an appearance at any of his recent shows. John Mayer has also covered the song before, so this made it a perfect fit for the special performance. As there remain only two more dates on the Born And Raised tour, fans can only hope that this collaboration won’t be the last.

Check out the amazing performance below and take a look at beautiful pictures of the moment as captured by a fan.

During the interview, he shared amusing stories about life on tour and offered his advice to young aspiring musicians.

Phillips also played a couple of songs, including his newest single, Where We Came From. Playing with guitarist Errol Cooney, the duo once again wowed the small audience with their musicianship and amazing guitar arrangements.
